    Responsibilities

    The Senior Roofing Estimator is the lead of the National Commercial Roofing Estimating Team. This is a very interactive position which will regularly work with all members of the sales and operations teams to drive accurate, timely and competitive proposals. This includes gathering all necessary information for each project, to include all take off information as well as all necessary information for each local code requirement.

     

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Organize, research, and strategically plan for estimate preparation, pricing, scheduling, and final submission to the sales and Sr. leadership team
    • Review plans and specifications for overall project understanding to identify risk in difficult work, operation, sequencing, project restrictions and time constraints and job specific requirements
    • Help identify and document any safety hazards that may cause personnel harm or cost association due to delays, materials, or additional assistance through sub-contracted work.
    • Understand and apply project constructability to the estimate format and costing to include safety and job specific requirements to include adhering to all code requirements
    • Discuss and establish bid strategies, concerns, and advantages
    • Establish work scopes for subcontractors, defining major and priority subs
    • Review estimates and subcontractor proposals for accuracy and completeness to maximize revenue and minimize exposure
    • Help to establish General Conditions by determining job specific needs to include access, safety, and controls
    • Bring all document reviews and estimating completion to closure prior to bid deadlines
    • Track awarded contracts as required; may include estimating and pricing extra work items, change orders, materials, etc.
    • Provide full estimating on all types of projects (large, small, complex, hard bid, negotiated) and help train, support, and mentor sales and estimating teams on Commercial Roofing scopes
    • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures
    • Demonstrate competency, accuracy, and organization during bids
    • Interface regularly with team members to ensure complete understanding of the project scope
    • Ensure that team members, including subcontractors, understand initial project requirements and on-going updates to those requirements
    • Job follow up to include warranty requirements and document securement to receive and properly obtain the correct warranty from multiple manufactures
    • Team player and positive collaborator with the company field supervision, project management, and administrative staff
    • Able to remain calm, focused, and effective under time-pressure situations
    • Other duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned
